在中国电力变压器领域,重庆ABB变压器有限公司 Recently won a 360 million Australian dollar order from Australia's TRANSEND power grid company for two 200MVA three-phase self-coupled power transformers, which will be delivered in early 2008. This follows the February contract with Singapore Energy Grid Company worth $4 million for two identical transformers. The company also secured a Kuwaiti export contract in March.
"This continuous stream of export orders is a testament to the quality of our products recognized by both domestic and international customers," said ABB China CEO Ruixing Ke. "It demonstrates that ABB-produced products have become an effective carrier of 'Chinese manufacturing' and 'Chinese design', while our ongoing R&D efforts in China have played a significant role in driving business growth."
ABB has research centers in Beijing and Shanghai, with R&D teams established at its over 20 local Chinese enterprises. The Chengdu-based ABB transformer factory boasts leading transformer design and calculation capabilities, backed by nearly 50 professional designers - including those who exclusively serve domestic clients.
"We believe that for foreign-funded companies like ours, it's crucial to localize research, technology innovation, and talent cultivation," emphasized Ke. "By integrating global advanced technologies and experiences into local innovations and production here in China before exporting them globally, we're not only pursuing ABB's strategic objectives but also fulfilling our commitment to national development."
Currently, around 90% of ABB's business operations within China are facilitated through locally produced goods and services. Among the company's approximately 11,000 employees based here are over 99% Chinese nationals.
